What Is GIS?

GIS Thumbnail Geographic Information Systems (GIS) combines layers of information about various neighborhoods, cities, townships, counties, or regions to give decision-makers a better understanding of southwestern Pennsylvania. GIS makes it possible to map, model, query, and analyze large quantities of data.
